Artist to Artist Residencies: International Platform
Art opportunities appear to be dwindling as programs and exhibits are cancelled worldwide. Yet, today is the perfect time for Arts Professionals to build something beautiful for your future.
Art Science Exhibits Berlin launches an innovative new program for professional Visual Artists, Curators, and Art Administrators, which includes stipends for Host Members worldwide. The platform will begin in full force after international travel is back in swing. For now let's build a network of truly inspiring, individualized art residencies for ourselves and one another.
As more artists enter the international artworld, more and more artists pay out of pocket for residency opportunities. Residency programs that can offer support are swamped with applications, and often, the best are denied. And many residencies can’t offer connections to regional artists, curators, or exhibition venues.
By providing this expanding network for members, and by keeping the money in the pockets of friendly artists, Art Science Exhibits presents the solution.
With Artist to Artist, international Host Art Professionals offer engaging, one-on-one residencies to fellow professionals - by sharing their home or studio, regional network, and resources. In turn, Host Members will be provided with a stipend from their visiting Guest Artist. Whilst sharing, Host Members likewise gain connections to each of their visitors' networks.
With Artist to Artist, Art Professionals have the possibility to expand their opportunities globally and exponentially.

How it works:
As creatives, Host Members have their choice of offering deliverables to attract Guest Artists. Your offer might include participation in an upcoming exhibition or an introduction dinner with regional artists and curators. You are free to design your own offer.
Host Members agree to house the Guest Artist in Residence in their home and/or art studio for a time period of two to six weeks. Hosts choose the time frame, month/s, and length of stay.
Art Science Exhibits will review Guest Artist applications from 3 months prior to your hosting them. Hosts have the final choice of applicants and can also set up video meetings with Guest Artists before accepting.
We expect Guest Artist stays and travel to be fully funded eventually. For now, Guest Artists will be provided with our letters of recommendation for applicable grants and for those who work at universities that may pay for sabbaticals.
Guests Artists pay a reasonable rate, up to €700 per month for their stay with a Host Member, depending upon the offering. Guest Artists payments are paid to Art Science Exhibits via PayPal. Art Science Exhibits retains only 30% of the Guest Artist’s payment for our administration, vetting, and advertising. Your stipend is assured by contract and will arrive in your PayPal account once your guest is accommodated. In the mean time, the payment acts as a deposit to assure a residence for the Guest Artist traveler. (Hosts can travel too!)
Once a Host's application is selected for membership, we discuss specific details in a video meeting (Skype) with you. We then send the contract, which includes a one time membership fee of €200. When the contract is secure, your residency is posted.
Art Science Exhibits promotes your invitation on the International Residency platform page of this site. Our site tracks up to 650 unique views per week! Further advertisements point Arts Professionals directly to your listing.
When applying for Host Membership, you have the added benefit of familiarizing Art Science Exhibits with your work, which we may consider for our future exhibitions and programs.
Host Membership Applications:
Professional Visual Artists, Curators, or Arts Administrators must provide websites that include a portfolio, links to exhibitions, or a project space (respective of your profession).
CVs may be sent as a pdf or gleaned from your website.
Additionally, send a few great photos of your space and location, sized 2 megs each with a paragraph or two about your interest.
Send the above with the subject heading Artist to Artist to [email protected].
