Return Shipping: We will let you know options in early June for shipping companies. As contracted, artists must pay for shipping costs in time for the shipping to take place. We will not pay in advance for you. We don't live in Venice - we won't be keeping your art. You must pack your art in ways it can be easily returned after we break down August 2nd. Write the weight, size of box, and return address on the box, include packing materials.
You must inform mp if you are shipping to Palazzo Albrizzi Capello:
Palazzo Albrizzi Capello
Cannaregio 4118. Fdm. S. Andrea
30121 Venice Tel 041 2410491/041 5225 475
There are two ways for transport. If the works arrives with a motor vehicle by land, the driver will have to travel the Ponte della Libertà. Arriving at the last traffic light, she will have to turn right and descend towards the Tronchetto Island. Once through the ramp, she will always have to turn to the right keeping two tall cranes in sight, which are on the bank of the Transport channel.
On the palazzo's side, a boat of the Brussa Company will have to wait for the car. The works will be downloaded from the vehicle and loaded onto the boat. The guide of the works (Nevia wrote this, not exactly sure what she means here) can get on the boat and be transported to Palazzo Albrizzi. The door of the Palace overlooks the Channel of S. Andrea.
This transport usually costs around € 150.00. The same amount will be required for the return from Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello to the Island of Tronchetto.
Very often artists and curators contact a shipping company, entrusting them with complete transport - the company will follow all the steps.
Art coming from Europe, transporting them in private form subtract all customs and bureaucratic practices.
For the transport with the boat it is very important to declare if the works are packed, protected by boxes, in this case the weight and the size of each package, the total number must be communicated.
The water transport company must also be informed of any need for transporters. I mean if you need other transporters to load the boat or if this task can be performed by the people accompanying the load.
Each person added by the Brussa Company costs € 20 / h.
It is necessary to calculate the exact time of the meeting on the Canal, and wait for the boat instead of arriving late. to avoid overhead.
I look forward to knowing your choice in transport. Nevia will order the boat for you and coordinate the times. When you have communicated the requested information on the quantity of the works, she will ask for a cost estimate so there are no surprises.
This blog is primarily for exhibition development. It provides ongoing information for artists participating in the Biennale exhibition. But it's also a place where we begin to create an amazing, streamlined exhibition by working more efficiently as a collective.
